So back in August of this year me and my boyfriend decided to go for a little weekend get away over the Bank Holiday. It was the first Bank Holiday we both had off work together, and thought we’d try and make the most of it.
Originally we had just 1 night planned and the a day at Chester Zoo (another blog for another time) however we got a good price on a hotel in Liverpool – The Liner Hotel so decided to add another night and headed to Liverpool for the evening.

Once we arrived and checked in, we went for a walk into town and to do a little bit of shopping! We ended up having dinner out at Smoke and Dough.
When we arrived at the restaurant we waited for our table and honestly as a couple were did feel rather forgotten as we were waiting in a corner. Despite booking we had a fair wait of nearly 45-50 minutes for our table.
Once we were seated however, the service was fabulous! Having never eaten there before we were given an intro to how their menu works and then ordered our drinks.

To begin with you get some flat bread and garlic breads along with an abundance of dips – all refillable as and when you ask. Following that you receive a platter of meats again, all refillable upon request. Side dishes such as salads, friea etc are an extra cost.

The food was gorgeous and we did make a good dint in the pile and asked for more of the sausage, steak and brisket.
Overall the experience was great – once we were seated! We both said we couldn’t fault it food wise and this was a style of food and a style of service neither of us had experienced before. My only tip would be – perhaps avoid on a Friday or Saturday night…
