UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
Day 2 of our holiday we decided we’d hit up Universal Studios. As we were there for 16 days, and our Disney tickets were for 14 we had to wait till we could activate them to be able to have disney at the end of our trip
Early wake up (thank you jet lag) and we headed to the park using a Lyft taxi. First stop we grabbed breakfast and coffee from the Starbucks on City Walk and headed to the main Universal Studios park. We wanted to spend alot of time around the Wizarding World this first day, so we started here for the full experience of ‘travelling to hogwarts’

We wandered towards Kings Cross and Diagon Alley for our first look down towards to Gringotts and the infamous dragon. Naturally I had to grab a butter beer while I was around…

We had a good wander around the Wizarding World over in Universal Studios, before heading over to Hogsmeade on the Hogwarts Express! The whole experience of travelling to Hogwarts on the train is brilliantly done, you have a compartment with a “window” where you can look and see London and countryside passing by along with some favourite characters!

After we had a good wander in Hogsmeade, and we rode Flight of the Hippogriff, we headed towards the Jurassic Park area to try and find some food and also to hit up the Jurassic Park River ride! Needless to say we got rather wet!! We also found some fantastic chillie cheese fries nearby too (I’d dreamed of those for years!)

Again we had a general meander round the rest of the park and headed towards the entrance as we had a reservation at the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. As we were using the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) in the Disney parks we were paying out of pocket for this meal.
Overall the food was good however I do feel we were all a bit too jet legged to fully enjoy the atmosphere and the meal properly. I would probably try and stick to a quick service style meal or eat back at the hotel next time as you do still suffer from the jet lag for a while.
I do love Universal Studios, especially the Wizarding World being a massive Harry Potter fan, and personally I could spend much more time there.
Whats your favourite part of Universal? Let me know!! And join me next Saturday for Day 3 where we finally hit Disney and we go to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party
Xxx
