Review – Tales from the Haunted Mansion – Volume 1

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summary

Based on the attractions from the Disney Parks, each new book tells the story of one of the Haunted Mansion’s 999 ghosts. With eerie illustrations throughout and a beautiful three-piece cloth cover, the books are designed to look like they came straight from the library in the Haunted Mansion.
Tales from the Haunted Mansion is a fun, spooky ride, just like the attraction from the Disney Parks. And if readers are familiar with the ride, they’ll see elements of it throughout the entire story, from items straight of the Mansion (are those pictures stretching?) to lyrics from the narration that is heard in each Doom Buggy.
In this bone-chilling book, you will hear the terrifying tales of the Fearsome Foursome–four kids who look to out-scare each other. But just wait until they hear my spooky stories. Who am I? I am Amicus Arcane, your librarian and host. Your Ghost Host. So read on… if you dare!

Review

The Tales from the Haunted Mansion, is a series based on the Haunted Mansion ride in the Disney parks, with your ghost host telling you the tales of 999 happy haunts from the rides. So far there have been 4 released, and I cannot wait to see if any more are in the future.

Haunted Mansion – WDW Orlando

The first in the series is The Fearsome Foursome. Just the initial look of the book is spectacular. It has a really eerie vibe to it, slightly weathered pages (even though the book is new) and has the feel of the old leather bound books you would expect to find in an old mansion. The story, in this first book is centred around a group of 4 teenagers who love to tell each other ghost stories – they call themselves “The Fearsome Foursome”

They find themselves with an invitation to an old mansion (our ‘Haunted Mansion’) where they find their way to an old library – with no way out. The old librarian arrives, our ghost host, and tell them spooky tales, with each of them as the star! Each one has their own spooky tale, and ghostly ending.

I love the rides, and I love the concept of these books giving readers the back story of the happy haunts. This one in particular I did find a little creepy even for me, the stories really set the scene before getting to the gritty parts of how they meet their individual ghostly ends.

I won’t reveal too much – I’ll let you read it for yourself… https://amzn.to/3sF1uT2

Keep checking back for the next Tale from the Haunted Mansion…
