Walt Disney World – day 10

TYPHOON LAGOON AND EPCOT

Our next day we planned in another relaxing day with a later get up with some park time later on.

We got up after a bit of a lie in, the water parks don’t tend to open until 10am so you can have a nice chilled morning when you plan to hit them. We decided on Typhoon Lagoon out of the two, we had breakfast at the hotel then hopped on the shuttle bus.

Once there you can get changed into your swimwear, and find a locker for the day. They are all automated so you don’t need to keep a key on you while you mooch about. We kept sandals on and a couple of towels and headed to find a desk chair or two. We knew we weren’t spending alot of time at the chairs as we’re not big sunbathers but we wanted a home ground.

Me and my brother went straight for the wave pool – the giant kids that we are, then all four of us went to the lazy river. We hopped off a few times as we were around the park to explore and see what slides and other pools were about.

As the park was starting to wind down, we headed back to change and get to Epcot. We had a dining reservation at Biergarten and a fast pass for Frozen Ever After. The ride is a family friendly journey through Arendelle and the events of the movie. Backed by the films soundtrack, stunning anamatronics and a couple of drops this is a must do when your in Epcot.

At the restaurant, located in the Germany pavilion, we checked in and had a little wait. The restaurant is themed after the famous Oktoberfest in Germany, and once sat you feel like you are sat in a town square. You are sat as part of a table of 8 – so if you are in a group smaller than this you will be sat with other groups, so if this isn’t your style maybe avoid.

Again we used dining credits for this, ordered our drinks and then the food is a help yourself style buffet with traditional German Fayre. We also had some entertainment from a German folk group who were brilliant fun and highly entertaining.

Following this we wandered through Epcot to find a spot for Epcot Forever, stopping at the American pavilion for Eat to the Beat as Boys to Men were on.

We ended up with quite a late night but wanted to use the skyliner again so we did the same route to Hollywood Studios then a bus back to the hotel.

Join me next week for another trip to Animal Kingdom
