Our full first day onboard was a day at sea as we were travelling out to the furthest point to then visit ports working our way back to Barbados.
We used the day as a bit of a “get our bearings of the boat” time, to get the lay of the land and figure out where everything was that we didn’t get to the night before. We started off with a brekkie at Island buffet, quick and easy and simple.
Most of the day was just a chill by the pool, reading books and enjoying the entertainment provided.

The pool deck was very lively with a DJ, quizzes through the day and live music late afternoon. We spent most of the day out here, enjoying the sun and music and our books. You are able to grab food and drinks and take a break from your sun lounger, however if you are gone too long (the staff will check and leave tags with return times) and remove your belongings to reception to keep things fair.
We a did take a walk around deck 10, so Mr C could take a bash at the climbing wall which he had been very excited about! Needless to say with his bouldering background he got up to the top to the bell very quickly!
Late afternoon we decided to call it a day, and go and get ready for the dress to impress night! This happened on both of our sea days, and was an opportunity to dress up and put on your glad rags. Some people chose not to, however the vast majority were out in their finery – anything from suit pants and a shirt through to a tuxedo for the guys, and cocktail dresses to full length evening gowns for the ladies. It really was nice to see everyone so dressed up.
All the restaurants did require you to be in some form of “dress to impress” so if you weren’t feeling it, you were pretty limited on eating that evening as you could only enter the buffet.
We settled on 47 Degrees 1 the main dining room which served a range of meals to suit a number of differing tastes. The staff as per previous evening were attentive, our glasses were never empty and service was quick with incredible food!
We also opted to see the broadway show this evening as well – Palais des Ombres. It was described as a cross between Greatest Showman and Moulin Rouge, and it was phenomenal! The cast are amazing, and really brought the world to life with their performances! The show lounge itself seats around 800+ guests, and we had no issue getting a seat! You are also offered drinks on your way in, and have a drinks holder to keep these safe during the performance

We had a brilliant day at sea, exploring the ship, soaking up the sun (maybe too much!) and enjoying the entertainment.
Keep your eyes out for the first blog in port when we visit Charlotte Amalie in St Thomas (US Virgin Islands)
Much love xoxo
