So we left off with us just leaving the Mount Gay distillery, after being picked up by the tour operator again to take us over to Harbour Lights beach, which is just down from the cruise port in Bridgetown.
Once there we checked in, and were given one wristband for our sunbeds and umbrella, and one for our turtle swim. We initially headed to the turtle kiosk to book a time of 2:00, then found 4 beds together for us and the other couple Debs and Dave we were with who did the initial distillery tour with us as well.

We headed to the sea for a swim, took some videos on our go pro camera and pictures, then grabbed our things ready for the turtle swim. We had to head back to the kiosk for our time slot, where we were guided to our boat – the Koopa Troopa (let me know if you get the reference!!)
We set off and they explained we would make two stops, one over a ship wreck, then to the turtles. We were kitted out with our life jackets and snorkel masks, and Mr C gave me some tips as I’d never been snorkelling before, and honestly it took some getting used to! It once I’d cracked it, it was AMAZING!
The ship wrecks were so cool, and the fish were amazing, then we moved and we were told once we were in the water again to essentially play dead as the turtles wouldn’t be stunned and would likely just come to us – and they weren’t wrong.

We got a solid amount of time in the water, and the turtles were very active and curious which was so cool! after our time was up and we were all back on the boat, we were allowed to have a play and use the slide going off the top – naturally Mr C did!
After this we headed back to the beach, tried to wash our feet and dry off as much as we could to get a taxi back to the port, and get back on board.

Over all the experience was truly magical and a once in a lifetime opportunity which really made our honeymoon extra special, and I would recommend it to anyone! I will leave a link at the end of this blog to their Facebook group for anyone who’s interested.

We ended our day with dinner in the main dining room, before some mini golf in the sunset and a sail away for a other full sea day as we made our way to the next port of call – Antigua!
Keep following us for more of our trip reports and tips and tricks!
