It’s travel day!!
We were all packed and out the house by 2:30am, heading to Liverpool John Lennon Airport – a first for us as we usually fly from Manchester, however this offered us slightly cheaper flights with better times allowing us to maximise our holiday. Mr C had sorted parking, which was around £40 and the car park was a short 5 mins walk away.
Once we were there and checked our case, we headed to security which was so much easier than what I’ve experienced at Manchester. It felt a lot smoother and calmer, making the whole experience better in general. It is a smaller airport, but there was still plenty of options for food, they have a Starbucks, a Burger King, and some lesser known brands as well plus a good old WH Smith’s. We settled on eating at where they were even able to do me a gluten free bun which was really nice. The time before boarding flew by, and next thing we knew we were on the plane for the short trip over the Paris Charles De Gaulle.

At the other end, again it was a really good experience getting through security but then we did have a little wait for our case. Once we’d grabbed this, we just had to walk through the airport to the other side and down to the train station. I had pre booked tickets for the TGV 10 min transfer to Marne Le Valle which is the station by Disney. A small tip – don’t book these until around 1-2 weeks before your trip as they plummet in price then. When I initially looked we were paying around £60 each, when I booked 1 week out they were £15 each! This was super easy, and got us to Disney really quick, so for us we found this worth the money!
Our hotel was then another 20 mins by bus, and I had been sent instructions on exactly which bus to use to which stop. Naturally this made our lives so much easier! Its was a nice bus ride to the hotel, with the bus stops right outside so really convenient. When we checked in we were able to access our room so we were able to take our bags up and unpack before heading out to visit the village.

We took the bus back out to the village €2.50 each way (call it €5.00 a day essentially) so that we could explore. Right now there is a lot of renovations happening around the Sports Bar, and Planet Hollywood, which did leave us with a good number of shops shut. However we still had all day, so managed to spend a good amount of time looking through the merch shops and wandering.
First stop was Maccies! We were super hungry and figured this was a nice quick meal as we knew we wanted to eat at a specific restaurant that evening. Overall it was pretty standard for Maccies and just what you’d expect. It was then time for shopping! So we worked our way through from Maccies, to the Lego store, and then through the other stores nearby which were open and full of Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel merch. Last stop was the World of Disney…

I absolutely adore this shop, it’s full of all sorts of merch from across the parks and covering every type and theme of merch you could want from clothing, Minnie ears and home wares to your plushies, pins and jewellery. We found ride specific items, such as Big Thunder or Tower of Terror, but also a good range of Christmas items already out on display as well. Being our first day we were eyeing up items we could either buy ourselves, or for anyone back home (we were in a Donald mission for a certain nephews birthday gift).
We were starting to crash due to the super duper early start so changed our search to one for coffee – and anyone who knows him, knows Mr C can find a Starbucks anywhere! And they were super helpful and did my almond milk option for me as well which was super yummy!
After this we were at a little bit of a loss of what to do until we were due at Rainforest Cafe, so we decided to have a walk around the lake and visit the different hotels which neither of us has ever done before.

You can join us next time for our hotel hopping, Rainforest Cafe and our trip to a secret Speakeasy bar
Until next time
Xoxo
