Day 1 – Exploring the Disney hotels

Welcome back to our trip report from our recent trip to Disneyland Paris! It’s still day 1, however I have broken this down as we spent a good period of time exploring the Disney hotels around the village area, taking Mr C to Rainforest Cafe for the first time as well as visiting the secret bar in the Art of Marvel Hotel.

After we did some shopping and grabbed our Starbucks, we went off for a wander round the Disney hotels around the village area – Newport Bay, Sequoia Lodge, Art of Marvel and of course at the park entrance the Disneyland Hotel. Anyone can visit these whether you stay there or not.

First stop we went to Newport Bay. Heavy on the nautical theming, this hotel is the cheaper of the 4 closest to the parks, and the first you get to heading anti clockwise to round the lake. We loved this hotel as it gave off cruise vibes which as you all know was another amazing trip we were lucky enough to take back in February.

Following Newport Bay, the next one along was Sequoia Lodge. This immediately gave me Wilderness Lodge vibes if you’ve ever been to visit there over in Orlando. Very rustic, and a lot of beautiful scenery surrounding the grounds. The shop in particular here was brilliant with some very unique items which we hadn’t seen elsewhere at this point.

After Sequoia Lodge, next around the lake was the newer Hotel New York: Art of Marvel. Honestly, you can’t miss this one, with the giant Iron Man statue outside. It’s very art deco, New York style, high rise, clean lines inside but if you are a Marvel fan – you need to at least visit for all the memorabilia in the lobby and the artwork on the walls. The shop is dedicated to all items Marvel (naturally), so if you little (or big) super hero’s have some spends – this is a perfect shop!

Final hotel stop was then the bucket list, dream hotel – THE DISNEYLAND HOTEL. Located at the gates to the Disneyland Parc this hotel is newly refurbished in 2024, and has very similar decor and feel to the Grand Floridian in Walt Disney World. The lobby is the main centre piece of the entire hotel with the crystal chandelier that is just simply stunning! it’s the top of the pack price wise, but you do have the views of the park and the convenience of being right at the gate. Definitely a bucket list stay – need to sweet talk Mr C I think.

Overall my favourite has to be the Disneyland Hotel, it’s just beautiful and gives the ultimate princess vibes. Mr C did like it in the other three and couldn’t pick – I think he’d lean towards the Art of Marvel in honesty…

Have you ever stayed at any of the on property hotels in Disneyland Paris? Let me know in the comments

Until next time
